DEVELOPMENT DAYS

Course Aim: This day course builds on the skills developed on your Level 2 course giving you time afloat to practice and
develop both close quarter boat handling and passage making. A fun, practical day afloat.

Group Size: 2 or 3 if you come as a group. '1 to 1' sessions too
Min Age: 14 if accompanied with an adult
Price Group: up to 3 people £650.00
Price per Person: £350.00

COURSE DURATION

1 day from 9am to 5pm. Additional days can be added as required.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Candidates should be competent to the standard of Powerboat Level 2.

INSTRUCTOR TO STUDENT RATIO

For this course our teaching ratio is one Instructor to two students to one boat. If though you want to book as a group of three that’s fine too. Alternatively we are happy to run these days as ‘one to one’ sessions.

COURSE DATES

We have scheduled these days every few weeks but will also run them on demand too. If you are booking as a ‘two’ or want a one to one session then you can choose whatever days suits – subject to boat availability.

MINIMUM AGE

14 years old. Children over 14 can come on the course accompanying a parent/guardian and will play a full part in the day.
DEVELOPMENT DAYS - THE COURSE

The Course:
Powerboat Level 2 is a great course that develops really valuable core skills. The challenge after Level 2 is getting time to hone and develop those skills. Getting afloat on one of our ‘Development Days’ alongside an instructor is a really beneficial way to do this.

Your instructor could cover the following topics with you during your time with him/her:

  • Leaving and coming alongside
  • Using springs to leave and come alongside
  • Man overboard
  • Handling at planing speed
  • Use of waypoints and routes
  • Pilotage plans for harbour entries
  • Any other areas you wish to cover

There is complete flexibility in how we construct the day so the list shown is just a guide. The key thing with this day is about really building on the skills gained at Level 2 so ahead of the day let us know the particular areas that you wish to work on and we’ll construct a day that works for all on the course.
